Red Horse Sanctuary is Shana and Brant DeAtley. Named after Shana's childhood horse Spicer, with whom she was reunited after a 15 year separation, and who inspired our move from Somerville Mass. to the hilltowns outside of Northampton. Spicer is no longer with us, but her spirit lives on in our sanctuary. We began in 2003 as Red Horse Press, a small etching studio in Easthampton, and are now happily settled into a stunning new space on our 13 acre property which we share with a wonderful family of assorted rescued animals.
